Rod is a Borough councillor for Lower Kingswood, Tadworth and Walton, and Executive Member for Community Partnerships. Rod says:
I can honestly say the past 5 years have been hugely rewarding, and I feel privileged to have represented our local community as a Borough councillor.
I am always available to assist individual residents who need help dealing with issues connected to the community or Council services.
I also regularly attend Residents’ Association meetings in my Ward to discuss local issues and listen to residents' concerns.
Working as a team with fellow Ward councillors Rachel Turner and Zelanie Cooper I have represented our residents' views on issues such as unwanted development in the Green Belt, Anti-Social Parking, and ensuring Surrey Police is aware our residents feel let down by the reduction in visible policing and working with County Councillors to combat flooding in our villages.
As a local resident I am aware of the different character and style of the communities which make up the Lower Kingswood, Tadworth & Walton Ward.
If I am re-elected I will continue to preserve the very unique features which are at the heart of these communities by ensuring that, wherever possible, any future development is balanced and in-keeping with the wishes of local residents.
Rod is standing for re-election in May 2022 and you can read his election address below.
