Today (13th August) we were out in Meadvale & St John's with local activist and former councillor, Jonathan White. Like the previous week in South Park and Woodhatch with Cllr James King, we were out talking to people about the Community Infrastructure Levy ("CIL"), a pot of money that developers have to pay into when they build in a community.
Some of the common ideas we were told about were:
- Better facilities for children to play
- Improvements to street lighting
- Providing EV charging points that can go under the pavement to the cars parked in the street
We also had a discussion with some people around school provision and road safety, issues which Cllr Victor Lewanski was able to speak about as the county councillor for the homes we visited.
We'll be out again over the coming few weeks and hopefully we'll get a chance to speak to you. Even if we don't, if you live in Meadvale & St John's, you can submit ideas you may have to spend the CIL money on using the survey below. (If you don't live in Meadvale and St John's don't worry, we'll set similar surveys up soon as well as come to speak to you.)
